Its role is to identify the Clay County Sheriff, criminal courts, West Virginia State Police Criminal Identification Bureau, West Virginia Sex Offender Registry, and other sources that may hold the requested material. Some pages also connect to outside research tools.

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not prepare credit reports, background checks, or other consumer reports. Our advertising partners also do not make their linked services available here for an FCRA-regulated decision. You must not use this site or a linked tool to:
- Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
- Evaluate a person for employment or continued employment
- Review a housing or rental application
- Determine access to a license, permit, or public benefit
- Carry out any other decision regulated by the FCRA
If an FCRA-regulated check is required, use the authorized West Virginia State Police Criminal Identification Bureau route or an FCRA-compliant provider.

Code Chapter 29B-1, governs requests to public custodians, and W. Va. Code §15-2-24 controls dissemination of State Police criminal-history records. Neither law makes this private site a government record holder.
